Construction milestone reached on Giangrasso Group's first yacht model

13 March 2025 • Written by Emily Dawkins

Italian shipyard Giangrasso Group has announced a construction milestone on the first unit in its G24 Classic series. The 24-metre project, named Veronika, has had her hull and superstructure joined at the Group's Viareggio site. Delivery is scheduled for July this year, after which she will debut at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival.

The new build will be the very first to bear the Giangrasso Group badge, with the brand launching into the superyacht market for the first time after 17 years as a subcontractor. Built entirely in aluminium, hull one of the G24 Classic features VYD Studio exteriors, Arrabito naval architecture and "intricate", "completely custom" interiors from Michela Reverberi.

The project's sale was announced in January by Ocean Independence, at the same time the brokerage unveiled their appointment as exclusive global agents for the shipyard, led by brokers Rytis Babravicius and Jelena Vezia.

Sold to a first-time owner with a large family, the yacht can accommodate up to nine guests across a flexible, four-cabin layout. This comprises a spacious master suite – complete with sofa area, walk-in wardrobe and en suite with shower – two double cabins and a twin with Pullman berth.

Known for her work on Viareggio Superyachts' (VSY) 72-metre flagship Stella Maris and Canados’ 43.5-metre Oceanic 143, interior designer Michela Reverberi is responsible for Veronika's "completely custom" interiors. Living spaces are inspired by the owner's love of flowers and favour for the colour "champagne", characterised by floral colour schemes, light wood flooring and contemporary fittings and furnishings.

Notably, the expansive main saloon was designed around an orchid – one of which lies woven into a hand-drawn rug – complemented by a pale blue sofa and burgundy dining chairs at a table seating eight guests.

"We decided to define the interior with light blue and burgundy," explained Reverberi. "I looked at what I could find in nature that included these colours and discovered the orchid. The owner is a romantic lady and loves flowers, so it worked perfectly. The owner's cabin is also decorated with flowers but only in a blue colour palette, while the other cabins are more geometric."

The designer also shared her emphasis on showing as much floor as possible in each cabin in order to "give the impression of something a little bit bigger." The feeling of space on board is a notable highlight of Veronika, with her 115GT interior noted to be a volume "typically associated with larger yachts in this category", while Ocean Independence broker Rytis Babravicius also highlighted how her entire design approach is "like that of a 50-metre."

From the main saloon, sliding glass doors will open and lead to a covered dining space on the aft deck, while twin staircases port and starboard lead to a large swim platform at the stern for easy access to the water, tender and toys.

Up on the flybridge deck will be another al fresco dining table and sofa (protected by a hard top), as well as sun loungers and a secondary helm station. Another noteworthy feature is the foredeck, which has a sizeable tender stowage space that, when empty, transforms into another sunbathing area.

Powered by twin MAN V12 engines and ZF pod propulsion, she is expected to reach top speeds of 27 knots and cruising speeds of 23 knots with a range of 300 nautical miles. Veronika will also be built to RINA class standards and registered under a Marshall Islands flag.

A subcontractor for 17 years, Giangrasso Group has established itself by producing hull structures and technical components for a number of leading European shipyards including Sanlorenzo, now moving into the superyacht new build market with the launch of Veronika.

Veronika's sold price is unknown, but the G24 Classic model is now listed for €7,200,000

"It's my dream," said Giangrasso Group CEO and founder Bartolomeo Giangrasso, who spoke with BOAT International at the model's press unveiling. "After 55 years working in the nautical world I decided to start building yachts under my own name. This reality is fulfilling, and shows our solid future ahead. I wish to thank those who trusted in me and believed in my project."

The CEO also revealed that the Group is busy and expanding, with a new production shed set to open nearby in Pisa and talks with interested clients for two models: the next G24 Classic and hull one of its larger sistership, the 34-metre G34 Classic.
