Pershing GTX116: The sporty 35m with an emphasis on al fresco living

31 March 2025 • Written by Hannah Rankine for Pershing

Pershing, a brand of Ferretti Group, is gearing up for an exciting year with two new flagship yachts joining its GTX116 lineup – the crown jewel of the yard’s GTX series. Following the 2023 launch of the first hull, Caffeine, sisterships Agartha and Byeee... have since hit the water. BOAT takes a closer look at what to expect from the latest additions.

At 35.3 metres LOA, the GTX116 is the result of a collaboration between the Ferretti Group Strategic Product Committee led by Piero Ferrari, Italian design studio Fulvio De Simoni and Ferretti Group’s engineering department. With a design philosophy that centres around the yard’s signature sporty DNA and optimised liveability, it’s the perfect package for those who crave speed, comfort and cutting-edge design.

Inspired by the sporty aesthetics of luxury SUVs, the GTX116 features a streamlined profile. For the first time in Pershing’s history, some external features, including ventilation grids and the windshield visor, were produced using 3D printing technology to achieve striking geometrics and optimised weight.

"Our idea behind the creation of this flagship was to offer the owners a yacht reflecting the recent trends in the brand’s DNA," says Giordano Pellacani, chief sales officer of custom business at Ferretti Group. "Pershing GTX116 is the first Sport Utility Yacht that revolutionises the segment with concepts previously used in other yacht categories, for example, the generous outdoor areas and their contact with water."

Al fresco living at its finest

This yacht is all about embracing the outdoors, with 165 square metres of well-connected open-air living space. The standout feature is without doubt the 40-square-metre teak-covered beach club that extends over two levels. Hydraulic gates open up the area, transforming it into a single, expansive waterfront lounge. From here, guests have easy access the transom garage, where a tender, Jet Ski and water toys are stored for adventures on the water.

Just above, the 35-square-metre cockpit offers a retreat with panoramic views, complete with a lounge area, an al fresco dining space and a sit-up bar. Owners can also opt for a large sunpad and a two-drawer fridge to keep refreshments on hand. Up at the bow, an additional sun area can be outfitted with either a sunpad or an optional Whirlpool Jacuzzi for six.

For those after a view from the top, the flybridge delivers a sundeck of over 40 square metres, partially shaded by the hardtop. It boasts a fully equipped bar, an integrated seating area, a sunpad and a free-standing lounge. The forward section houses a second helm station with up to three sports seats, giving guests a thrilling hands-on experience.

Bringing the outdoors in

Inside, the connection to the sea continues, thanks to extensive glazing that keeps ocean views front and centre. The interior features materials from top design brands such as Poltrona Frau, Ernestomeda and Roda. The colour scheme is customisable, with the second hull showcasing a neutral palette of cream and tan tones accented with browns, and the fourth hull sporting an even lighter palette of predominately white.

The main deck saloon features a spacious lounge and a formal dining area, with a few customisable options available. Owners could opt for a sit-up bar instead of the formal dining table and an optional four-metre side balcony drops down on the port side at the touch of a button. The galley sits to starboard while the custom helm station is forward, featuring a single uninterrupted windscreen spanning five metres, black leather upholstery and a carbon fibre pilot seat.

Below deck, the GTX116 accommodates up to 10 guests across five cabins. The master suite takes advantage of the yacht’s maximum 7.7-metre beam, with two doubles and two twins completing the remaining guest accommodations, each featuring en suite bathrooms and generous headroom for a yacht of this size. There are separate crew quarters forward of the lower deck for a team of up to five.

Serious power for high performance

Performance is where Pershing really shines. The GTX116 is powered by three MAN V12 2000 engines, delivering a thrilling top speed of 34 knots and a cruising speed of 29 knots. Even at maximum speed, she boasts a range of 400 nautical miles.

The triple water jet propulsion system ensures exceptional handling and also allows for a shallow draught – perfect for navigating shallower waters.

"We are extremely proud of this model as it matches Pershing’s distinctive sportiness with extreme luxury and comfort, meeting the needs of modern owners," Pellacani adds.
