Turkish shipyard Mengi Yay has launched the second unit in its sub-500GT Serenissima series, Serenissima II. The 47-metre motor yacht, known as project number NB 112, hit the water at the yard's new build facilities in Istanbul, Turkey.
The launch comes less than a year after the first unit from the series, Serenissima I (S1), was launched in August 2024, before making her debut at the Monaco Yacht Show.
Like her sistership, Serenissima II features both an exterior and interior design by Italian firm Nuvolari Lenard, with Dutch studio Van Oossanen Naval Architects responsible for her naval architecture. According to the yard, the new launch stands out "as a result of international collaboration", representing a, "refined synthesis of artisanal and technical excellence from three nations."
Constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the motor yacht has been "specifically designed" for both long-range cruising and the Mediterranean lifestyle and features wide deck areas and a spacious interior layout.
Accommodation on board Serenissima II is expected to welcome a party of ten in five cabins thanks to her 499GT volume, in addition to a crew of nine.
Highlights of the Serenissima model include a main saloon complete with a balcony and wine cellar, and a sundeck - highlighted by the yard as "one of the largest in this category of yachts" - which features a sunbathing area aft, a mini pool and a sheltered lounge area.
Key specs include a 8.85-metre beam, a 2.65-metre draft and a projected top speed of 16 knots thanks to twin Caterpillar engines.
According to BOATPro, there are currently six superyachts in build at the Turkish yard, including two units from Mengi Yay's flagship Virtus XP model, both expected to launch this year.
