Turkish yard Aegean Yacht has launched the 37.3-metre explorer yacht Carmen from its Bodrum site. The new build belongs to Riza Tansu's Tiger Shark series and has the militaristic aesthetic the Turkish designer is known for, including a high bow, wide aft deck and ample portholes.
The yacht is available for charter with Yacht IN (which also acted as broker and project manager). As such, the model prioritises capacity – there are two convertible cabins – and entertainment, particularly up on the sundeck which has an American bar, built-in grill and generous sunpads.
Accommodation is for 10 guests across five cabins, at the centre of which is the full-beam, main deck master suite, arranged with a king-size bed, designer armchair, desk and en suite with rain shower. Remaining accommodation can be found on the lower deck, comprising two doubles and two twin cabins that can become doubles.
Living spaces are light and minimalist – owed to Tansu, Paolo Lenti and B&B Furniture – with white panelling and warm woods incorporated throughout to maintain a "relaxed yet sophisticated beach-house aesthetic".
The model also prioritises the dining experience, with an al fresco offering on the main deck aft (complete with adjustable table to accommodate larger groups) and a lowering table in the main saloon. A wine cellar, ice makers and walk-in fridges elevate the spaces.
Meanwhile, the major "play area" is the open aft deck, which can be set up for basketball and tennis and is equipped with a transformer platform for easy waterside access.
Other design highlights include a beach club, a bow Jacuzzi that can be hidden beneath a teak cover and watertoy storage, including SeaBobs, e-foils and water skis.
According to BOATPro, Aegean Yacht has two projects currently under construction. This includes Project Obsidian Blade, a 41-metre explorer yacht sold using cryptocurrency.
