With the Palm Beach International Boat Show fast approaching, BOAT takes a closer look at an award-winning yacht for sale with a family-orientated design.

One of the must-see superyachts in Palm Beach this year is Rossinavi’s 62.8-metre Utopia IV. She is a multi-award-winning head-turner, having claimed top honours in her size category at the World Superyacht Awards in 2019 and was named Best Power Yacht at the International Superyacht Society Awards the same year.

With her sporty, low-profile silhouette, Utopia IV is a “custom modern-day build without the three-year wait”, according to her broker, Josh Gulbranson of Fraser. Delivered in 2018, she underwent a refit in 2022, including a full engine and generator service, and a hull repaint in 2024 in a custom “Utopia Grey”.

Designed with families in mind, Utopia IV offers a range of features that cater to both comfort and convenience. A dedicated children’s playroom is positioned on the upper deck, just forward of the skylounge, providing a private space for younger guests to enjoy. There is also convenient access to the ocean with the expansive beach club and swim platform, along with the main deck pool for family and guest fun. All of this makes her particularly appealing on the charter market. However, while she is fully charter compliant, Utopia IV has seen only light charter use since her delivery, as her owner has primarily chosen to enjoy the yacht berthed at their private residence.

One of Utopia IV’s standout features is her beach club, complete with a fold-down transom that extends into a massive 230-square-metre swim platform ideal for lounging by the water or grabbing a drink at the bar. What makes this area special is the natural light that filters through from the overhead glass-bottomed pool up on the main deck. Lighting was a major focus throughout the yacht’s design, with floor-to-ceiling windows and opening side doors in the main saloon, which draws in plenty of natural light, and eye-catching horizontal lighting features throughout.

For those who love on-the-water fun, Utopia IV comes fully stocked with tenders and toys, including a Williams Dieseljet 625 tender, two jet skis, two Seabobs, an electric jet surf, inflatables and scuba diving gear. The dedicated tender bay spans the full 10.1 metres and features a hull-side shell door, making it easy to launch and retrieve the watercraft.

When it comes to outdoor living, she has plenty of expansive deck spaces designed for socialising and relaxation. The bridge deck aft is a top-tier entertainment hub, featuring al fresco dining, a seating area, a sit-up bar and an open-air cinema for unwinding after a day on the water.

Up top, the sundeck is an inviting retreat for sunseekers, complete with a barbecue and plush loungers for laid-back afternoons. Meanwhile, the foredeck offers a huge lounging space with sunpads and a U-shaped seating area, making it an ideal spot for larger groups to gather and enjoy the view. And for those who prefer a little shade, biminis are available throughout, ensuring comfort no matter the time of day.

Inside, Utopia IV offers 986GT of internal volume designed by Italian studio Enrico Gobbi - Team for Design, featuring predominately neutral décor that is accented with pops of turquoise. The main saloon is a welcoming space, featuring a bar on the port side and a hidden TV, while the separate formal dining area forward comfortably seats up to 12 guests. Upstairs, the skylounge provides a cosy retreat for movie nights or games, complete with a nearby pantry for seamless service.

Accommodation on board is arranged for 12 guests across six cabins. The standout is the palatial, forward-facing owner’s suite on the main deck, boasting 180-degree views through floor-to-ceiling windows, a private sitting room, an office, a glass-enclosed Jacuzzi bath and even a private balcony. On the lower deck, a full-beam VIP, two double cabins and a twin cabin complete the guest quarters, and there are separate quarters for 13 crew.

Utopia IV’s shallow draught of 2.2 metres, thanks to her water jet propulsion, makes her extremely versatile - equally suited for cruising in shallow waters or berthing behind a private residence. Powered by four MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines driving Rolls-Royce hydro jets, she reaches an impressive cruising speed of 20 knots and tops out at 25 knots while also offering a 3,500-nautical-mile range at an economical 12 knots.

“One of the things that really stood out to me when we were cruising on board Utopia IV was how incredibly quiet her engines are,” says broker Lon McCloskey, a rare quality for a yacht of this size. “She’s also US-flagged, meaning she can enter all US ports without requiring a pilot.” For stability and comfort, she is equipped with both gyro and fin stabilisers, ensuring a smooth experience whether underway or at anchor.

Lying in Miami, Utopia IV is currently listed for sale with Josh Gulbranson and Lon McCloskey of Fraser. She is asking $44,000,000, with US duty paid, and also qualifies for the United States IRS bonus depreciation schedule.
