The 28.4 metre sailing yacht Early Purple II, listed for sale by Elena Canepa at Southern Wind in Italy, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Dirk Boehmer at SYS Yacht Sales in Florida.
Built in carbon composite by South African yard Southern Wind Shipyard to RINA class with external and internal styling by Nauta Yachts and naval architecture by Farr Yacht Design, Early Purple II was delivered in 2001 as one of the yard’s 93’ series. Accommodation is for six guests in three cabins comprising a master suite plus port and starboard doubles, all with full en suite shower facilities.
Below deck, the Italian styling is evident in the handcrafted teak finished interior. The full-beam saloon features a six-person dining table to port with a comfortable settee to starboard.
On deck, she features a two-cockpit arrangement where the forward cockpit is a safe area for guests to relax and enjoy al fresco meals while the aft cockpit is dedicated to the operation of the boat and sail control. The flush deck layout is both practical and safe, allowing easy access and movement for the crew and guests. Both cockpits are protected by spray hoods and the centre cockpit features an over-boom sun awning.
She has successfully completed a circumnavigation, including detours to South America, New England and Scandinavia. In 2014, she returned to her birthplace in Cape Town, South Africa, to undertake a complete renovation at the Southern Wind yard. She boasts a maximum cruising range of 2,000 nautical miles with power coming from a 370hp Lugger L6108A2 diesel engine.
Early Purple II was asking €1,900,000.
