Following its unveiling at the recent Monaco Yacht Show, BOAT’s Hannah Rankine takes a closer look at the new 36-metre Sirena 118 model.
Turkish shipyard Sirena Yachts has carved out a distinctive identity in yacht design, with each model instantly recognisable as a Sirena. Defined by its plumb bow, reverse fashion plates and rectangular hull windows - penned by Sirena’s in-house design team - each yacht showcases a cohesive aesthetic unique to the brand. The latest 36-metre Sirena 118 carries this signature style while standing as the largest in the shipyard's composite line. Offering a grander space for clients who cherish the hallmark features of Sirena, this new model is designed for larger groups of family and friends to spend quality time together on board.
A design ready to customise
Dutch studio Cor D. Rover had 265GT of internal volume to play with, which incorporates ample headroom and a mix of natural and ambient lighting. Expansive windows flood the interior with daylight, while carefully placed fixtures offer varied lighting moods at night. Reflecting modern trends, the designers opted to replace the traditional dining area in the 35-square-metre main saloon with more informal dining spaces on deck. A well-connected galley on the port side allows efficient service across all deck areas.
When it comes to the accommodations, owner privacy has always been a key consideration in Sirena’s yacht designs. With this in mind, the 118 offers six staterooms for 12 guests, including an owner’s suite on the main deck with sea views on three sides and a private balcony for secluded relaxation. There are five further en suite guest staterooms on the lower deck, comprising a VIP, two doubles and two twins. A standout feature of this model is the option to remove one of the lower deck guest cabins to make space for a split-level owner’s suite, with the lower deck space at water level available for a private gym, spa, cinema or any other retreat the owner desires. That being said, all spaces onboard the Sirena 118 can be customised to reflect the owner’s wishes, so long as the bulkheads remain the same.
The yacht accommodates a crew of five in quarters separated from guest areas, positioned towards the aft end of the lower deck for easy access to the engine room and service areas. The upper deck features a spacious 32-square-metre saloon with an adjacent pantry near the bridge in the standard layout. However, if desired, the pantry can be converted into a captain’s cabin, increasing the crew capacity to seven to suit the owner's needs.
Expansive deck spaces
On deck, there are a variety of customisable outdoor areas designed for relaxation. The expansive sundeck spans 53 square metres and includes a table for up to eight people and a wet bar, while the foredeck space provides further options – ideal for installing sunpads, a Jacuzzi or any feature that suits the owner’s vision.
A standout feature is the 50-square-metre multilevel beach club that is connected to the cockpit on the main deck, designed for versatile use with folding wings that extend the aft space when at anchor. A hydraulic platform simplifies launching and recovering tenders and water toys, while convenient storage under the beach club keeps equipment secure.
Built to RINA classification standards, the 118 features naval architecture by the renowned Argentinian Germán Frers who incorporated extensive insulation and a "floating floor" system to reduce noise and vibrations on board.
Owners can select between two powerful engine options: twin 1,550 hp MAN V12 engines or an upgraded twin 1,900 hp MAN V12 package. With the larger engine configuration, she can reach a maximum speed of 21 knots, while comfortably cruising at 15 knots.
The Sirena team is proud to announce that the first unit of the 118 is already sold. To find out more about the model, contact them today.
