The 37.15 metre sailing yacht Moonbird , jointly listed for sale by Y.CO and McMaster Yachts, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Matthew Albert at Yachting Partners International.
Lloyds classed and built in aluminium by New Zealand yard Fitzroy Yachts to a design by Dubois Naval Architects, Moonbird was delivered in 2003 as a high performance cruising sloop. MCA compliant, she has an elegant, relaxed interior by Rhoades Young using highly polished mahogany woodwork coupled with fine European fabrics, French upholstery and custom carpeting throughout.
The deck layout includes two large cushioned seating areas, one on the aft deck and the other forward of the Jacuzzi spa, which also includes a luxurious sun pad. Formal and informal entertaining and dining is available both in the comfortable pilothouse and below in the stylish saloon and dining room.
Accommodation is for up to 10 guests in four cabins consisting of a full beam master suite, a double cabin forward and two twin cabins aft, each with a Pullman berth. All cabins come with DVD systems, televisions and full en suite bathroom facilities.
Moonbird carries a carbon fibre mast and boom, Southern Spars carbon rigging and a wardrobe of Doyle Stratis sails. She has been a regular and enthusiastic contestant at the world's sailing superyacht regattas including both the Mediterranean and Caribbean Loro Piana regattas. A single 660hp Caterpillar engine gives her a range of 3,500 nautical miles at 10 knots when under power.
Moonbird was asking €5,950,000 with VAT paid.
