Feadship motor yacht Istros sold after just 53 days

10 January 2022 • Written by Malcolm Maclean

The 42.1 metre classic Feadship yacht Istros, listed for sale by Cecil Wright & Partners, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Cornelius Gerling of Edmiston & Company.

First delivered in 1954 by Dutch shipyard De Vries Lentsch, Istros's restoration was originally started in 2013 with a new interior by Van Geest Design but was stalled due to financial difficulties. After the yacht was sold in 2018, the restoration resumed at Feadship and was finally completed in 2020.

Istros was asking €19,950,000

The mammoth task included the complete overhaul of the interior into "family-orientated, sunny Scandinavian style", as well as the installation of a brand new engine room. The quality of the refit was recognised at the 2021 World Superyacht Awards, where the yacht scooped a Neptune in the Rebuilt Yachts category.

Built to an in-house design, Istros features accommodation for nine guests in five cabins, with crew quarters for up to ten staff. The cabins consist of an ensuite one master, three twin rooms and one single room.

On deck, there is space for a large sofa and four deck chairs, while a second, larger dining table was installed for al fresco entertaining.

Istros entered the charter market for the first time in 2021 and was an instant hit thanks to her elegant classic lines and stunning Scandinavian style interior.

Istros was asking €19,950,000.
