The 25.7 metre sailing yacht Velacarina has been sold with Pieter van der Weide of Hoek Brokerage acting for the buyer and seller.
Built in aluminium by Dutch yard Claasen to a design by Hoek Design Naval Architects, Velacarina was delivered in 2004 as a Truly Classic 85 model. A further two cabins can sleep up to three crewmembers.
The capacious saloon comes with comfortable seating, a dining area and an entertainment centre including an HD home movie projector and a Bose stereo surround sound system. Al fresco dining in the cockpit is even more relaxing under the large Bimini top, providing welcome shade from the sun.
On the technical side, she is extensively equipped, including full carbon masts and booms, main and head sails on furling systems, hydraulic sail winches reached from the cockpit, halyards on captive winches, hydraulic bow and stern thrusters and a recessed dinghy garage on the foredeck. She also carried out a three-year circumnavigation and was the winner of the 2014 Pendennis Cup.
Under power, a 300hp Lugger diesel engine gives her a cruising speed of 10 knots.
