The 40.7-metre ketch sailing yacht Surama, listed for sale with Jamie Small of Burgess, has received an additional price drop of €500,000.
Surama was delivered in 1997, constructed in aluminium by Dutch shipyard Royal Huisman to a design by Ted Fontaine, with naval architecture by Ted Hood and interiors by Andrew Winch. She returned to the yard in 2017 for a major refit and has since received extensive maintenance with "no expense spared".
The interiors, comprising a deckhouse, lower saloon and three guest cabins, incorporate neutral fabrics complemented by light teak joinery for a contemporary feel. The large owner’s suite is aft and has a private study as well as direct cockpit access, and there are two guest cabins amidships, each with an additional Pullman berth.
The deck layout has been designed with guest use and ease of sail handling in mind. There is an aft cockpit that can be used for dining or converted to offer a secure sunpad, while further outdoor seating can be found between the dual helm stations and the deckhouse. For easy access to the water, a central section of the aft deck folds down to create a swim platform.
Under power, twin 570hp Mercedes diesel engines give the Lloyd's-classed 270GT yacht for sale a maximum speed of 12 knots and a transoceanic range of 4,300 nautical miles at 10 knots.
She has a centreboard keel reducing draught from 6.8 metres to 2.9 metres when raised, giving access to shallower waters and anchorages.
Lying in Turkey, Surama is now asking €5,750,000 with VAT paid.
