Every month we place a spotlight on one of the best-designed brokerage boats that have joined the market, changed agents or have had a significant price drop. For October, the 36-metre Mulder Shipyard motor yacht Seaflower is our Brokerage Boat of the Month.
Claydon Reeves and Vickers Studio were responsible for her exterior and interior design respectively. Seaflower is listed for sale with Jamie Small at Burgess at €21,500,000, having had a price reduction of €1,000,000 in October. She is lying in Fort Lauderdale, USA.
BOAT's brokerage editor says:
Seaflower is the sixth in the Mulder ThirtySix range and was a winner at the World Superyacht Awards 2024 with judges calling her "truly an impressive little boat". An evolution of the custom-designed Solis, and built of aluminium, with exterior designs by Claydon Reeves, Seaflower packs everything into her 36 metre-length, comparable to a much larger yacht - partly thanks to her high freeboard forward, giving more volume, and large tender garage aft.
Full-height windows to port and starboard, together with a fold-out balcony, make for a fresh and airy open-plan saloon/dining room when opened up. The full-beam master cabin benefits from a skylight and the VIP cabin is comparable in size. Thoughtful details worked up by Vickers Studio, such as the hand-crafted wall panelling and seating arranged to echo those in the owner's home, are all exquisitely crafted by Mulder Shipyard, who recently announced a partnership in the USA assuring full backup service.
The broker says:
Burgess' Jamie Small said: "Seaflower epitomizes excellence. Crafted with precision in aluminium to ABS classification and charter compliance by Mulder Shipyards, she was delivered to her discerning owners in 2023. Seaflower represents an amazing opportunity to own a (nearly) brand new Mulder ThirtySix at a discounted price"

The designer says:
John Vickers of Vickers Studio said: “Seaflower’s owners are used to more traditional yacht interiors so our challenge with this design was to create a more traditional-feeling interior with the realities of the more modern-looking light oak that was selected. One of the ways we did this was to add polished brass trim and fiddle rails across the top of cabinets, and inset into the dining tables and other furniture.
The rich colours in greens, yellows and reds through the fabric scheme also brought out the traditional feel, however the fabrics themselves had quite contemporary modern patterns, which were very carefully considered to bring in colour but not look dated.
Seaflower’s main saloon features customised sofas and chairs, precisely to the clients' dimensions and comfort levels. We visited the clients' properties to review their best-loved seating arrangements.
Storage cupboards were added port and starboard between the main saloon and dining area. Warm red touches were added on the front of these cabinets to link with the seating fabrics. Palisandro Classico marble, used on these cabinets, was also taken through as an insert to the dining table.
The owners fell in love with the dining feature wall panel which also brought in the greens we added to the carpet detailing. The hand-cut coral pattern was custom designed by us as a modern take of a traditional idea. The owners’ cabin included an extra desk that was required for both of the owners to be able to have a study space.
The sundeck hot tub was removed to make a larger area for entertaining, and some feature pieces of Neal Jones furniture were arranged here. The exterior ceiling had a textured surface to calm and reduce the bright reflections.
We were very pleased with the design visuals we created through the design process, but then there’s nothing like seeing the finished article which is a truly pleasing and welcoming design. A career highlight!”
