Moonen Yachts and Vripack release interiors of latest Moonen 112 Martinique model

Dutch yard Moonen Yachts has offered a first look inside its latest Moonen 112 Martinique model – the first of its kind with interior design by Vripack – at this year's Palm Beach International Boat Show. The 37.4-metre yacht is currently for sale with IYC and is well underway in its construction journey, with delivery scheduled for September 2025.

The model has a classic, masculine exterior by René van der Velden, a long-standing collaborator responsible for the design of several Moonen series – most recently, the Moonen 110 Mustique. Naval architecture is owed to Diana Yacht Design, with the model built in high-tensile steel for long-range cruising.

The series, which began in 2018 with the World Superyacht Award-winning Brigadoon, is characterised by its broad sundeck, arranged with a sheltered dining area, bar, optional custom whirlpool, and a sofa arrangement forward of the wheelhouse. Other highlights include an extended, 20-square-metre swim platform, al fresco dining on the main deck and "pleasant" quarters for six.

Accommodation is across five cabins, comprising a full-beam owner's suite on the main deck (complete with forward-facing windows), two VIP guest cabins with high ceilings and two lower-deck guest cabins. Along with a fireplace in the skylounge – complete with Frame TV above for cosy cinema nights – Vripack also added a  a homely touch to the owner's cabin by tweaking the GA and flipping the position of the bed. "Now, when you're in bed, you can actually look outside the windows," Hoekstra shared at the initial press unveiling.

Interiors are "anchored" by wood, leather and brass with the aim of creating a "calm and unfussy" atmosphere. Custom details include an antique bronze mirrored ceiling in the main saloon and a dining room mural inspired by Delftware porcelain.

"With our sketching techniques and artificial intelligence, we made this Dutch landscape, which doesn't exist," Hoekstra explained. "And then, as a final touch,  I ripped off half of the painting, and that's for the visitors and the guests to imagine what is in the rest of this image." The landscape motif is continued in the cabins as feature walls.

Another standout feature is the modern colour scheme, led by smokey blues, greys and warm woods. "Given the rich history of our studio and the Moonen shipyard, we wanted to do something which focused on our Dutch heritage," Hoekstra continued. "So we opted for the typical blue [colour scheme], which is very omnipresent in all of Dutch history, in the artists and the painters and in our Delftware."

To bring, in Hoekstra's words, a "little sparkle", Vripack added high polished walnut to the scheme. "This is a very difficult wood to work with, but I wanted to showcase the craftsmanship the shipyard really has internally, which is, which is rare. There are lots of shipyards which offer carpentry, but the way the guys at Moonen do it is really intriguing."

Powered by twin CAT engines, the build is expected to reach a top speed of 17 knots, a cruising speed of 15 knots and a range of 3,500 nautical miles at 10 knots.

The Martinique model has proved itself popular, with the seventh unit also under construction and the sixth – named Moonshine – already cruising.
