Turkish yard Bilgin Yachts has announced the technical launch of its 74 metre speculative project known as Bilgin 243. Construction began in June 2018 and the yacht is due for delivery in 2024.
Constructed from a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the yacht’s exterior lines and naval architecture have been designed by Unique Yacht Design. The exterior design has been described as “aerodynamic” and includes clean shapes and large, vertical windows.
Chief executive and founder of Unique Yacht Design, Emrecan Özgün, said of the exterior design, “This yacht offers a "dolce vita" to its guests while balancing interior and exterior concepts. The exterior lines can be described as sexy, sharp, masculine, modern and most importantly timeless.”
The interiors, meanwhile, will feature a living room dining table that can seat 16 guests while accommodation is spread out across seven cabins, four of which are on the lower deck, with two VIPs and the owner's suite on the main deck. The master cabin is equipped with a Jacuzzi, terrace, working space and private lounge.
Other highlights on board include a flybridge with space for sunabthing and a 50 square metre beach club, complete with a bar and lounge areas, gym, sauna and tender garage. Powered by twin 1,920 kW main engines, the yacht will be able to reach top speeds of 17 knots and offers a cruising range of around 5,000 nautical miles at a speed of 12 knots.
Bilgin Yacht chief executive Ismail Şengün described the Bilgin 243 as "a superyacht that has been designed to offer the owner a well-considered relationship between external and internal living areas in addition to a life spent between sea and land.”
Bilgin Yachts CEO İsmail Şengün added: “The technical launch and design of Bilgin 243 proved a complete success for the whole Bilgin team. We are very happy and proud of starting the year with a big splash.”
Following the technical launch, Bilgin 243 will finish outfitting in the West Istanbul Marina and is expected to be delivered to its owner in 2024.
