YPI sells sailing superyacht Cyclos III in Blind Bid auction

Mark Duncan at Yachting Partners International tells me that broker Will Bishop has sold the 42.35m sailing yacht Cyclos III for sale in a Blind Bid Auction.

Built by Royal Huisman and delivered in 1990, Cyclos III is widely acknowledged as the ground-breaking yacht of her generation in a masterful design executed by Ron Holland, coupled with an Andrew Winch-designed interior. She accommodates up to 10 guests in three cabins – a master and two doubles, along with four Pullman berths.

Under power, an 890hp MTU engine gives her a range of 5,000 nautical miles.

'Sailing yachts may only make up around 12 per cent of the world’s fleet of yachts for sale, but there is a passion with sailing yachts that’s hard to find elsewhere in yachting,' says Head of YPI Sailing and one-time captain of Cyclos III, William Bishop. 'And it’s a passion that was perfectly exemplified by the very high level of interest this auction generated.'
