The 31.09 metre sailing yacht Garuda, listed for sale by Jochen Brill at Northrop & Johnson, has had a price reduction of €160,000.
Designed for Nautor's Swan by Ron Holland, the New Zealander famous for superyacht designs like M5, this ABS classed, 30.48 metre yacht was built in 1986 and underwent a thorough refit in 2008 at Spanish yard MB92. This has created a contemporary interior finished in cream fabric in the midships saloon, where there's U-shaped seating around the dining table, a bar and plenty of natural light through wraparound coachroof skylights. A linear galley runs just off along the starboard side.
Jon Bannenberg took control of design below decks and the master en-suite cabin impresses. Claiming almost a quarter of the interior, it takes advantage of the 7.35 metre beam just forward of midships and has a his and hers head, including a Jacuzzi tub — a modest drain on the 3,500 litre water capacity. Other accommodation includes two twin guest cabins, plus quarters for three crewmembers.
A proven regatta yacht, Garuda promises lively performance under sail, but should the wind not play ball, a 550hp Mercedes-Wizemann diesel engine provides a cruising speed of 10 knots, with a maximum speed of 14 knots. Her total fuel capacity is 7,000 litres.
Offered in turnkey condition, Garuda is now asking €770,000.
