Major price reduction on superyacht Garuda at Fraser Yachts

14 January 2011 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

The brokers at Fraser Yachts appear to be having their version of a New Year sale as a call to Jurgen Koch in Palma brings confirmation of a €450,000 drop in the price of his central listing, the 30.48m sailing yacht Garuda.

An ABS classed Swan 100 model sailing yacht, she was built in 1986 by Nautor's Swan, in association with naval architect Ron Holland with styling by Jon Bannenberg. This 165 ton superyacht can accommodate six guests in one master and two twin cabins, while a 550hp Mercedes-Wizemann diesel engine offers a cruising speed of 10 knots with a maximum speed of 13 knots. Jurgen tells me that Garuda has just had a total refit including fresh paint from the keel to the top of her mast. Currently lying in Palma de Mallorca, her asking price has come down from €2.3 million to €1.85 million.
