Camper & Nicholsons sells sailing superyacht William Tai with Edmiston

20 May 2014 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

Alex Busher at Edmiston tells me he's closed on the sale of the 40.67m sailing yacht William Tai, with Fernando Nicholson at Camper & Nicholsons representing the buyer.

Designed by Ted Fontaine, William Tai is a world cruising sailing yacht launched by Royal Huisman in 1997 as Surama and substantially upgraded in 2009 and 2011

Her original owner was a thoroughly experienced yachtsman whose exacting demands helped created a jewel of a superyacht. William Tai has been continually maintained and in 2011 was extensively upgraded with a new teak deck, complete repaint, fresh interior and exterior upholstery as well as a complete service of all technical systems and rigging.

With accommodation for eight guests in three cabins, William Tai was asking €8.75 million.
