Motor sailing yacht Nostromo has price cut

5 March 2015 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

The 29 metre motorsailing yacht Nostromo has had a €70,000 price cut at Bernard Gallay Yacht Brokerage.

Built in steel by Dutch yard De Vries Lentsch to an in-house design, she was delivered in 1951 as a classic gentleman's yacht and refitted in 2013. The refit included an overhaul of her engines and gear boxes, all new seacocks fitted and the main mast dismasted, checked and remasted. Accommodation is for eight guests in a double cabin and two triples, all with en suite facilities.

Her aft deck is a very pleasant area with sofas, a dining table, chairs and a sun awning, ideal for al fresco dining. It also has access to a small pantry with a sink and refrigerators while the upper deck is big enough to accommodate sun pads and sofas for more outdoor living.

Nostromo sails well with her ketch rig and large sail area while under power twin 267hp Detroit Diesel engines and a huge fuel tank give her a range of 3,500 nautical miles.

Lying in Marseille, France, Nostromo is down from €650,000 to €580,000.
