Charter yacht of the week: The 66m Oceanco with a trackside F1 berth

13 November 2024 • Written by Georgia Boscawen

Each week we take a closer look at one of the world’s finest superyachts for charter. This week BOAT steps on board the 66-metre Oceanco motor yacht AHS, which is immaculately presented after a €20,000,000 rebuild in 2020.

In 2005, Dutch shipyard Oceanco delivered this 66-metre canoe stern yacht under the name Dilbar. Having gone through several upgrades and enhancements, AHS (as she is now known) remains a fine charter vessel with huge decks, a unique interior arrangement and interiors by the late Alberto Pinto. Not only are her interiors vast, thanks to a volume of 1,801GT, but they are abundant in natural light thanks to her large windows. Owing to natural wooden finishes and neutral tones, the yacht is also filled with texture.

In 2020, AHS saw her biggest refit, which is reported to have cost €20,000,000 over a 16-month period. The yacht was amongst the biggest sales of 2024, sold in January with a last known asking price of €42,500,000, and she now re-enters the charter market under a new name with a new lease of life.

To say that AHS is a head-turner is an understatement, as few contemporary yachts on the charter market have such a distinctive canoe stern. It was this that made her instantly recognisable at the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix in the bay. Not only does this help her stand out, but it's also an indicator of the yacht’s vast decks, which are strewn with dining tables, sun loungers, sofas and bars. The yacht for charter is one of the industry’s true entertainers –  sleeping up to 12 guests and hosting up to 150 people quayside.

Stepping on board into the main saloon, guests will be greeted with the huge Pinto-dressed space, which has large cream furniture and a sit-up bar finished with light woods including Macassar, ebony and sycamore wood. As guests delve deeper into the yacht, wooden tones get darker and even more precious.

For charter guests heading to the Maldives or UAE this winter onboard AHS, her vast deck space is where the yacht for charter comes into her own. The space has a vast spa pool forward surrounded by sun pads and additional lounge space aft. The space is notably larger than most 70-metre sundecks, placing her in a league of her own for entertaining. Those who wish to keep up with the fitness regime can also do so on board thanks to AHS's stock of treadmills, rowing machines and free weights.

Dinners on board can be spent under the stars on the aft deck, which has an exterior dining table that seats up to 18 guests. An outdoor cinema completes the set-up, as well as the yacht's interior cinema.

Life on board AHS

The yacht provides accommodation for up to 12 guests, housed across six elegant cabins. The master cabin is a full-beam master suite with a lounge, double-sided drop-down television screen and adjoining private office. Those who need to keep on top of office affairs on board can tuck away in this well-appointed office with zero disturbances. The master cabin is certainly suite-like, with a walk-in wardrobe and a large marble bathroom. Additionally, there are two luxury-finished supernumerary cabins, offering extra space for guests or staff.

Entertainment options are abundant on board, with a vast waterfall pool of more than 19,000 litres, a fully stocked toy box and a cinema located on the main deck, which features ultra-comfortable seating arrangements.

AHS also has a large tender garage, housing three tenders, including a limousine Royal Denship 9.7-metre tender and Wajer 38 Chase boat available on request.

For those looking to fully relax this winter, all your needs will be taken care of by the 18-man crew who strive to create experiences that cater to all. She’s also a top choice for trackside charters and will be heading to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for the season finale.
