Miami-based studio Luiz de Basto has unveiled a new, 80-metre concept known as Volare. The superyacht belongs to Oceanco's Simply Custom range, which aims to offer a new type of customisable superyacht built on a proven platform.
The Simply Custom platform has a volume between 2,200 and 2,700GT, a top speed of 16.5 knots and a maximum possible LOA of 90 metres. It would also be powered by an all-electric propulsion system.
Luiz De Basto's take on the platform features a rounded hardtop, sharp bow and "floating superstructure" effect complete with dramatic overhangs. Leisure highlights include a glass-fronted pool with a waterfall feature, found on the aft deck, and an upper deck conversation space complete with firepit, sunpads and separate seating area.
"Volare’s modern design is deeply rooted in our understanding of the evolving desires of today’s yacht owners. For these clients, impeccable quality and technical excellence is a baseline," explained de Basto. "Beyond this, they are excited by exclusive designs that evoke emotion and artistry, departing from the generic aesthetics of the past. On Volare, our challenge – and our triumph – lies in harmonising beautiful design with precise engineering."
According to Oceanco, the Simply Custom foundation is fully compatible with alternative renewable diesel fuels such as HVO, allowing owners to "reduce the yacht’s carbon emission by approximately 80 to 90 per cent compared to using normal marine diesel."
The shipyard released its own version, the 80-metre Pegasus concept, earlier this year.
