Outfitting progresses on Nautor Swan's second-largest project to date

Nautor Swan has announced a construction milestone for the Swan 128, which is building at the shipyard's facilities in Pietarsaari, Finland. The 39-metre sailing yacht is currently having her carbon-composite hull painted ahead of her launch in 2025.

The model was first introduced at the Monaco Yacht Show 2022 and will be the second largest Swan in the history of the Finnish shipyard since the launch of the Swan 131 Aristarchos in 2006. Her naval architecture is the work of German Frers, a longtime collaborator with the shipyard, and her interior is by Italian architect Misa Poggi.

The Swan 128 is the largest model in the shipyard's fleet and joins the 88, 98, 108 and 120 models. The styling is an evolution of the Swan 108 and the Swan 88, which were launched in 2023 and 2024 respectively.

A slender profile is defined by a sculpted deckhouse that offers a sportier appeal than her fellow cruisers. Lightness and functionality is at the core of the model's design and can be credited to Lucio Micheletti at Micheletti + Partners.

The deck is divided into three key areas: the social cockpit, the helm station and a large, multi-functional aft deck that serves as an open-air beach club. The transom folds down to reveal a tender garage with room for a 4.5-metre RIB or tender.

Guests entering from the cockpit are greeted by a semi-raised saloon that offers three levels of natural light. A television lounge, directly connected to the raised living room, can be converted into a large dining saloon that can seat up to 10 guests. Meanwhile, the entire foreship is dedicated entirely to the owner's quarters and has few design constraints, making it an appealing option for those looking to customise their next sailing yacht.

The remaining guest accommodation can be configured to the requirements of each owner with single or double beds as well as additional Pullman berths. The entire aft area of the boat is dedicated to crew accommodation and operations.

On the technical side, the Swan 128 will feature a double rudder blade offering optimal control even at high speeds and fingertip steering, giving her agility as well as elegance. A generous sail plan, conceived as a mainsail, jib, solent jib, A0 and A2 spinnaker with a total geometric sail area of 715.6 square metres, means the model can reach her full potential even in light winds. Heeling is contained to around 20 degrees offering comfort when under sail.

According to BOATPro, the second unit in the Swan 128 series is also under construction.

The news follows the delivery of Nautor Swan's first hybrid sailing yacht, the 26.5-metre DreamCatcher
