The Vulcan 46 motor yacht sold last month by Antoine Larricq at Fraser Yachts has now left her shed and been launched at the Vicem yard in Antalya, Turkey.

The first hull in its Vulcan series, this semi-displacement composite motor yacht has a length of 46.08m with naval architecture and exterior design by Frank Mulder.

'On a boat this size, with such high expectations of performance, the choice of the "right" naval architect was an important one. Nobody has as rich an expertise as Frank Mulder does,' says Sebahattin Hafizoglu, founder and chairman of Vicem Yachts.

The yacht's modern interior was designed by Art-Line and accommodates 12 guests in six cabins including a full-beam master suite on the main deck and a VIP, two doubles and two twins on the lower deck.

RINA classed and MCA compliant, the Vulcan 46 is powered by twin 3,650hp MTU engines giving a top speed of 25 knots, a cruising speed of 20 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.

The Vulcan line of large, high-tech composite yachts is a new step for Vicem, which had previously focused on cold moulded wood and epoxy techniques.

The Vulcan 46 motor yacht will be delivered this summer. Two other models, a 35m and a 32m, both designed by Frank Mulder too, will also be launched this year.
