Italian yard Tankoa Yachts has announced the technical launch of Rose, the first 55-metre hull in its T55 Sportiva range.
The motor yacht hit the water at the yard's Genoa facilities, unveiling her "aerodynamic", elongated lines by Italian designer Luca Dini. Her interiors, which are yet to be completed, will bear the "unmistakable signature" of Piero Lissoni from Lissoni & Partners – expected to be completely bespoke and contemporary throughout.
Following final outfitting and sea trials, Rose will make her international debut at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show.
Rose's sale was first announced in February 2022, six months after the shipyard revealed the Linea Sportiva series during a live Zoom event in June 2021, when models of 45 and 65 metres in length were also unveiled. Her owner – said by the yard to be a young entrepreneur with "deep roots" in the yachting industry – has been heavily involved throughout the construction process.
A notable feature on board is the innovative Nemo Room, a semi-submerged lounge that will offer an "immersive" experience, which was a key point of focus for her owner. Other highlights include a vast beach club centred around a large swimming pool, generous exterior lounge areas, and two panoramic Jacuzzis: one on the private owner’s terrace and another full-beam Jacuzzi on the upper deck bow.
Rose's interiors are expected to be bright and airy thanks to expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing, offering generous living spaces and accommodation for a total of 12 guests in six cabins.
CEO of Tankoa Yachts, Vincenzo Poerio, commented at the launch: "Thanks to the Sportiva Line, we’re introducing a new take on contemporary luxury, sleeker, sportier, with flowing lines that balance elegance and performance. Rose perfectly embodies this vision, delivering both outstanding performance and timeless style. Her launch is an important moment in our evolution, and we’re thrilled to showcase her to the world in Monaco."
According to the yard, the Sportiva line is already expanding, with the second T55 Sportiva currently under construction with a scheduled summer launch. A third hull is also currently in-build under speculation, available with a 2027 delivery date.
The Italian yard last hit the headlines at this year's Palm Beach International Boat Show, where it expanded its portfolio with a new, 52-metre superyacht model.
