Bassan&Benedetti unveils 90m explorer yacht concept with "gala helideck"

16 April 2025 • Written by Emily Dawkins

Italian design studio Bassan&Benedetti has unveiled a new 90-metre explorer concept named Altrove.

According to the studio, the yacht has been created with scientific exploration, cutting-edge technology and guest amenities at its forefront, blending the "pleasures of navigation with unparalleled luxury."

With adventurous pursuits central to her design, Altrove is fitted with a fully equipped wet and dry scientific lab for up to four scientists or guides. She can host 18-man expeditions, with comfort and safety ensured even in the most challenging of waters or weather conditions.

Characterised by a striking reverse bow and "bold and rigorous" exterior lines – said by her designers to convey a sense of "resilience and strength" – Altrove's near 5,000GT volume is packed with features for comfortable ocean exploration.

Living spaces include a 60-square-metre owner's studio-cum-lounge split over two levels, and a double saloon with dining area for up to 30 guests. There are two observation lounges on board: one forward on the upper deck and one aft of the bridge deck, both providing 360-degree views.

The helideck is certified and made complete with a fully enclosed hangar capable of holding a Airbus H135, 130, 125 or a Bell 407 helicopter. When not in use, it transforms into a party deck, outdoor cinema or fine dining gala venue.

A generous wellness area with a gym, spa, and massage room is connected "seamlessly" to the 110-square-metre beach club which dominates Altrove's stern. Fold-down balconies on both the port and starboard sides, a wide opening transom and a multi-level swim platform transform this beach club into a "haven close to the water".

Talking of wellness, Altrove has plenty of pools to choose from for both relaxation and fitness. There is a seven-by-five-metre pool on the main deck, a double Jacuzzi in the beach club, and a private owner’s Jacuzzi on the upper deck forward.

Twenty-two guests are accommodated across a nine-cabin layout; a highlight of which is the owner's suite with its private forward terrace, spanning the same area as the expansive beach club. The guest accommodation is versatile, with the eight cabins easily converted into four 60-square-metre VIP suites. There are further quarters for a crew of 30.

Further enabling adventure, the explorer is equipped with a large collection of toys, including several Limo and RIB tenders, two submarines and Jet Skis, all of which are housed in a large garage and workshop area close to the water.

Key specs include a whopping 15-metre beam and a draft of 4.5 metres.
