Spiip: Nautor Swan delivers second sailing yacht with "sunset lounge"

Finnish shipyard Nautor Swan has delivered the second unit in its Swan 88 sailing series, Spiip. The 26.5-metre was launched in April just a week after her sistership, DreamCatcher, which has also been delivered to her owner. 

With naval architecture by German Frers and an exterior by Lucio Micheletti, Spiip has been specified with performance options like a high modulus mast, square top mainsail and winch upgrades.

At the heart of the design is the main deck, which is separated into four defined areas. The first is the guest cockpit, which has been installed with a "newly evolved" coachroof design that features an integrated sprayhood, Bimini and modular benches. The latter allows for flexible arrangements, including formal dining setups and casual lounge spaces.

Meanwhile, a brand new beach club arrangement is located at the stern, benefitting from direct water access and a tender garage. Forward of the mast is the fourth area, known as a "sunset lounge".

Spiip's contemporary interiors have been styled by Misa Poggi, who has opted for a soft, neutral colour palette with warm backlighting incorporated into the furniture and staircase.

"The series presents a super-smart opportunity for owners to reduce running costs by chartering, [as] this design cleverly satisfies the critical 24-metre load line length rule," added a spokesperson for the yard. "Nautor Swan’s decision to develop the Swan 88 stems from the aim to offer a true performance superyacht based on an efficient platform, minimising management costs and simplifying the charter certification process."

According to BOATPro, Nautor Swan has two yachts on order or under construction, both belonging to the shipyard's second-largest series to date: the Swan 128.
