The 27.6-metre FD80 yacht Amethyst has been launched by Taiwanese shipyard Horizon, marking the introduction of the first fishing cockpit in the series.
With an exterior and interior completed in-house, the yacht's profile showcases a classic white design, enhanced by outriggers that reflect her sportfishing capabilities. Horizon Yacht Australia director, Mark Western, described Amethyst as “a vessel designed to enable [her owners] to embark on adventures where they can experience the thrill of reeling in a large catch.”
According to her broker, the yacht was christened Amethyst in reference to the birthstone as her fishing-focused owners, both born in the month of February, felt it reflected "personal significance and as a symbol of good fortune".
Accommodation is available for up to eight guests across four suites. The interiors feature a neutral colour palette, accented with touches of purple in the furnishings, complemented by water-bleached walnut finishes – a nod to the owners' fondness for amethyst.
The main deck houses the master suite, which includes a 55-inch TV set within an Affresco art feature wall. Other highlights on the main deck include a custom dining table, a large L-shaped sofa and a bespoke Michelangelo quartzite coffee table.
Further forward, an open-style galley is equipped with a large island and three bar stools, along with a wine cooler in the foyer. On the lower deck, there are three VIP suites, with panoramic windows in the amidships rooms.
The exterior spaces offer an enclosed sky lounge, a wet bar, a Jacuzzi and various amenities for outdoor entertainment.
Powered by twin MTU 1,600hp engines, Amethyst delivers "superior performance and an unforgettable angling experience."
