Fitzroy has launched its 37.5m sailing superyacht project FY17, christened Escapade.
The performance sloop is designed by longtime Fitzroy Yachts collaborator Dubois Naval Architects, who commented, 'Designed by Dubois, built by Fitzroy. With great sadness launch of 37m SY Escapade will be the ninth and last Dubois design to come from this talented shipyard.'
As we reported in January, sadly this is the last launch from Fitzroy Yachts. The New Zealand builder's order book has been unable to bounce back after the Global Financial Crisis and the yard must cease operations.
Fitzroy superyacht FY17 was ordered in April 2012 and was delivered on time. The yacht has been built for an experienced charter client who came to Fitzroy Yachts after two years of research. The all-aluminium, sloop-rigged yacht is designed with performance in mind and features a fixed keel.
Lloyd’s registered and MCA compliant, Escapade features interior design by Design Unlimited and will accommodate eight guests in four cabins.
