First look: 35m Amer 120 flagship motor yacht Neva

3 November 2022 • Written by Brooke Murphy

Permare has offered a glimpse on board its newly-delivered flagship, Neva, a 35.54 metre motor yacht from the Italian shipyard's Amer 120 series.

Her naval architecture is courtesy of Massimo Verme and her exterior styling is by Permare Srl/Andrea Ramasco. Ocean-inspired interior furnishings are dotted with marble accents, and art-deco features are seen throughout the shared main living areas.

The main saloon is a key entertainment hub, where floor-to-ceiling glazing, glass and mirrored surfaces enhance the feeling of openness. A sweeping “cave-a-vin” overlooks a formal dining space and a lounging area while discreet lighting throughout shared and private areas adds to the soft ambience.

Neva has accommodation for 10 guests over five cabins. Her master suite boasts generous windows and a full-size bathroom while a VIP and three double cabins complete the rest and contain en suite facilities and full-size wardrobe provisions.

Her fresh and bright design is realised through soft furnishings and a clean colour palette. Bathrooms are decorated in natural Italian stone, harmonising with the natural flow throughout. Teak found on board comes from recycling materials found after the demolition of ancient Indonesian villages. Balconies and sliding doors on varying decks add to the connection with the outside world.

Crew quarters can be found below and contain separate laundry, kitchen, bathroom and dining facilities.

The aft deck contains a dining space and symmetrical staircases to port and starboard – a feature that is replicated on the bow for guests to make their way towards the sun pad area. Bench seats are tucked inside the stern, creating a "lounge prive;" a space to rest which is sheltered and hidden from outside the boat.

Other highlights include an infinity pool at the bow giving guests the feeling of "being flush with the sea." Controls for the underwater lights, swimming ladder, platform and hatch can also be managed here at the touch of a button.

Heading upwards, the sundeck with its wet bar and a comfortable lunch table creates a flexible space for enjoying 360-degree views of the ocean. A Jacuzzi adds to the several swimming and bathing options on board with decks wrapping around externally and adding to the feeling of infinite space.

The launch bottle on NEVA

At 250GT and with a 7.4 metre beam, the Amer 120 features a bow design that is raised from the hull to create a distinguishable "flying superstructure" look.

To eliminate approximately 4 tonnes of weight, the Permare shipyard adopted an innovative building solution through the replacement of two lateral sides (usually made in GRP) with recyclable materials.

A  garage at the stern can accommodate a 5.4 metre tender, one Jetski and a host of other toys including a sea scooter and a paddle board. When opened, the aft door also acts as a sun shade for the beach area below.

Neva is equipped with four Volvo Penta 1350 IPS engines to deliver a top speed of 23 knots and a cruising speed of 27 knots.
