Wally's WHY 200 hybrid superyacht is to be expanded into a fully-fledged series, the Ferretti Group has announced.
The series will include two new models, with Wally managing director Stefano de Vivo revealing designs are underway on a larger and smaller iteration of the 27 metre superyacht, with moulds "already built".
More details regarding the smaller model will be revealed at the boot Düsseldorf boat show in January, de Vivo said. "When we're ready to tell you, we're going to start talking about a bigger one," he added.
It comes after the first WHY200 made its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival earlier this month. The model has been likened to a spaceship due to its futuristic design. "On paper, it's very different, in real life it's unbelievably different but in a good way," said Ferretti Group chief executive Alberto Galassi at the Monaco Yacht Show.
The WHY200 is designed to offer up to 50% more living space compared to other yachts of her size by packing 200GT into a 27 metre LOA.
“In keeping the yacht registration under 24 meters load line we have been able to optimise the costs of running and berthing, while still providing the space and volume benefits of a much larger vessel thanks to its innovative full-wide-body design,” said Di Vivo.
Wally also used the occasion of the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show to announce a range of 30m+ super sailing superyachts.
