British designer Andy Waugh has celebrated the launch of his own studio with the release of an eye-popping 90m art nouveau-inspired motor yacht.
Waugh, who has worked as a consultant for UK design houses including Terence Disdale Design and Eidsgaard Design, has used his specialism in 3D modelling to create an exterior style that recalls forms by Alphonse Mucha and Antoni Gaudi.
The Nouveau concept’s main deck, with ceiling heights of 2.7m, features two VIP cabins forward. Aft there are dining and lounging spaces, leading out to an aft deck with an infinity-style swimming pool. Above is an owners’ deck with a full-beam suite featuring balconies on both sides. Aft on this deck are exterior areas for sunbathing and informal lounging, while spiral staircases here link the decks above and below.
A rather fun touch is a water feature that runs from a waterfall on the sun deck spa pool, through narrow channels edging the bridge and owners’ decks to the main deck swimming pool. The Nouveau superyacht will feature four more double guest cabins and accommodation for 18 crew members on the lower deck.
