43M Vitters Sailing Yacht Koo Sold

30 October 2020 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

The 43 metre sailing yacht Koo, listed for sale by Simon Goldsworthy at Edmiston & Company, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Vassilis Pateras and James Auld at SuperYachtsMonaco.

Designed by Dubois Naval Architects, she was built in aluminium to Lloyds class by Dutch yard Vitters and delivered in 2002. Her most recent refit, in 2019, saw her receive new paint, rig, decks, rebuilt engines and generators, and she is now ready for a new owner to take on a new adventure. MCA compliant for charter, her comfortable accommodation by RWD is for eight guests in four cabins comprising a full beam master suite and three doubles. All guest cabins have full en suite shower facilities while a further three cabins sleep six crew aboard this yacht for sale.

Koo was asking €7,500,000

Designed and conceived to go around the world as a luxurious bluewater world cruiser, in her current ownership Koo has fulfilled the original design brief admirably by voyaging extensively and circumnavigating the globe twice. Indeed, she makes the perfect round the world platform, being big enough to be comfortable, yet compact enough for the running costs to be manageable.

Solidly built with the customary Dutch attention to comfort and quality, she is a quiet yacht with excellent noise and vibration characteristics, and with her extensive relaxation spaces both inside and out she makes a comfortable home on the water for both passengers and crew even for extended periods. This is especially true since the addition of a new carbon hardtop, providing welcome shade from the tropical sun under way, and which has had the additional benefit of updating her lines so that her looks bely her build date. Under power, her top speed is 15 knots and she boasts a maximum cruising range of 3,300 nautical miles at 11 knots with power coming from a single 820hp MTU 12V183TE72 diesel engine.

Koo was asking €7,500,000.
