The 10 biggest superyachts listed for sale in 2024

19 December 2024 • Written by Nick Jeffery

From the 107.6-metre Luminosity to the iconic Christina O, BOAT takes a look at the ten largest superyachts that joined the market in 2024. The list, compiled from BOATPro data, includes boats from 65.5 metres to 107.6 metres length overall, totalling 844.5 metres. To date, none of these yachts that joined the market in 2024 have been sold.

Top 10 newly listed in 2024:

1. Luminosity (107.6m Benetti, €135,000,000)

The 107.6-metre superyacht Luminosity joined the market in June 2024 with Peter Bennett of Bluewater Yachting Dubai. Built in steel and aluminium by Italian yard Benetti to a design by Reymond Langton Design, Benetti, Zaniz Interiors and Giorgio Cassetta, her exterior sports 800 square metres of glass, with three-metre windows that flood the interior with light. Luminosity has a multitude of features including her own private health club, fitted out with a steam room. When the side shell doors are open this becomes a sea-level spa, complete with a fully-equipped gym, a cold pool that is maintained at four degrees Celsius and a 30-square-metre swimming pool, the floor of which raises to create a dance floor. Luminosity is lying in Montenegro.

2. H3 (105.3m Oceanco, €295,000,000)

The 105.3-metre Oceanco superyacht H3  joined the market in June with Will Bagshaw of Edmiston, having completed a major rebuild in 2024.

Originally delivered as a 95-metre in 2000 and built by Dutch yard Oceanco to designs by The A Group, her rebuild included an extension of 10 metres to her hull, eight of which were at the aft deck and two metres towards the bow. Previous names include Al Mirqab, Indian Empress and Neom.

Reymond Langton Design was responsible for both the exterior and interior redesign, while Lateral Naval Architects and Oceanco collaborated on her naval architecture. She picked up a Neptune at the 2024 World Superyacht Awards and she comes with a full shipyard "new build" warranty.

Accommodating up to 20 guests in 10 cabins, her forward-facing master suite is positioned on the owner's deck with a lounge that doubles as a cinema, as well as a dining room for 14 guests. The owner's deck incorporates a glass-sided, climate-controlled winter garden which has a dining table that can seat up to 32 guests when extended. The VIP suite on the bridge deck has its own private aft deck terrace and there are a further five double cabins and three twin cabins on the main deck.

3. Christina O (99.1m Canadian Vickers, €90,000,000)

The iconic 99.1-metre motor yacht Christina O  joined the open market for the first time in June 2024 with Morley Yachts. Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Maria Callas, Richard Burton, John Wayne, Winston Churchill and John F. Kennedy are some of the names that have walked on her decks or sat at her bar – the latter built from the wood of a sunken Spanish galleon ship.

Christina O was originally delivered by Canadian Vickers in 1943 as an anti-submarine vessel and served in the D-Day landings in Normandy, France. Naval architecture is by Professor Cãsar Pinnau and Howaldtswerke while exterior design is by Costas Carabelas. The superyacht was converted by Greek shipowner Aristotle Onassis, the second husband of Jackie Kennedy. Her most recent refit was in 2022.

4. Here Comes the Sun (89m Amels, €199,000,000)

The 89-metre Amels superyacht Here Comes the Sun  rejoined the market in July 2024 with Ian Sherwood and Stéphanie Bosi of Burgess.

The custom superyacht was delivered in 2017 as the flagship of the Amels fleet – a title that she has held for the past six years. She was commissioned by a repeat client with a penchant for The Beatles, who was looking to upgrade from a Limited Editions 212 model Ventum Maris (formerly Imagine).

The 2,955GT flagship was built as custom to Lloyd's Class with an exterior and interior from the boards of design royalty Tim Heywood and Andrew Winch. The pair had worked together on a number of Limited Editions projects and it seemed only natural for two Brits to reunite for the flagship build.

5. Victorious (85m AKYACHT, €120,000,000)

The 85-metre superyacht Victorious  rejoined the market in February, eight months after being withdrawn. She is now listed for sale with Barnes Yachting.

Built of steel and aluminium in Turkey by AKYACHT and delivered in 2021, the exterior design is credited to Michael Leach Design and interior design to H2 Yacht Design, although these areas evolved over a 14-year-long design and construction period, during which owners, designers and yards changed.

Leach, who had recently left Terence Disdale Design when he took on the project, said, "at the time it was really refreshing doing an explorer yacht to luxury standards". Leach drew on his experience of styling Maupiti, now MMM, under Disdale – his first project after leaving transport design college – when designing the original exterior of Victorious.

H2's Horsfield's favourite areas are the beach club, sporting a pool, and the upper smoking lounge, "both very different spaces with very different uses of course but great examples of their genre".

6. Yersin (76.6m Piriou, €59,000,000)

The mighty 76.6-metre expedition yacht Yersin was listed for sale by Tomaso Polli and Jonathan Barbe of Edmiston in June.

Built in steel and aluminium by French commercial yard Piriou to a design by Pierre-Jacques Kubis, she was delivered in 2015 as an eco-friendly, world-girdling expedition yacht.

Green technology is at the yacht's core and the owner was willing to sacrifice guest spaces to make room for larger technical areas such as the engine room. Yersin’s diesel-electric propulsion spreads power production over six generators that can be brought online, one by one, according to demand. They burn only the fuel they need so they’re green and offer serious range. Meanwhile, two azipods are complemented by a pump jet forward that allows an impressive degree of manoeuvrability.

8 guests have free rein of a 30-square-metre spa, cinema, and a pool deck complete with a teppanyaki galley, sushi bar and a large swimming pool. Other highlights include a library and an elevator accessing all six decks. The owner’s stateroom is inspired by the French colonial era and comes with its own private deck forward and fixed balconies as well as a lumino-therapy shower. 1

Yersin is SOLAS passenger ship compliant and can travel up to 12,000 nautical miles on a single tank of fuel, while a 1C Ice Class hull lets her venture further than most other vessels. Yersin will appeal to an owner who wishes to explore the oceans, perhaps with scientists on board, enjoying the comfort of a superyacht without being ostentatious.

7. Global (74m Lürssen, €79,000,000)

The 74-metre Lürssen superyacht Global joined the market in March 2024 with Rob Newton of IYC.

Designed by Monaco-based Espen Øino with interior by UK-based Reymond Langton Design, the steel and aluminium yacht was delivered in Germany in 2007 by Lürssen, who was also responsible for the naval architecture. The pedigree vessel was "meticulously refitted in 2024".

The six-deck superyacht has a generous 12.6-metre beam and spacious accommodation for a party of 12, including an on-deck full-beam master suite with Jacuzzi bath and his-and-hers private balconies.

An enticing beach club with sauna and massage room, a nightclub, cinema plus a helicopter deck are standout features of the substantial vessel. Her 18-seater dining table – with a "wine lounge" containing ten wine coolers adjacent – allows for formal entertaining.

8. Casino Royale (72m Tankoa, €69,000,000)

Casino Royale joined the market with Thompson of Monaco in March 2024. She was built in steel and aluminium by Italian yard Tankoa Yachts to RINA and Lloyd's class with delivery in 2018. A luxe interior by Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini, which is both modern and masculine, accommodates 12 guests in six cabins comprising a master suite with a private terrace, a VIP suite, two doubles and two twins. All guest cabins have entertainment centres, television screens and en suite bathroom facilities, while the crew quarters sleep 18 staff.

A favoured spot in the evening is the spacious sky lounge/piano bar offering plenty of seating on low and deep sofas by Fendi Casa in front of a 90-inch 4K OLED screen above the fireplace. One of the eye-catching features in the main deck dining room, meanwhile, is an aquarium by Melik – designed to keep the water still even as the yacht moves – filled with colourful fish.

The beach club connects with the yacht’s wellness hub, which includes a glass-walled gym, a sauna and hammam spa and chilled water shower, both with a fold out terrace balcony.

9. Amadeus (70.4m Neue Jadewerft, €48,500,000)

The 70-metre superyacht Amadeus, built by Neue Jadewerft, was listed with George Bittles and Matt Emerson of Burgess in August 2024.

Delivered in 2007 in Germany, the steel and aluminium vessel which has completed multiple global cruises was designed by Reymond Langton Design and François Zuretti. Naval architecture is by Vripack and Gregory C. Marshall.

A crew of 23 look after an owner's party of up to 14 guests who enjoy seven cabins. A private owner's deck comprises a full-beam, forward-facing master cabin, lounge and exterior deck space, along with a gymnasium and attached sauna.

The Zuretti interior features Norwegian birch burl panelling and marble soles. A full bar serves guests in the main saloon which offers "expansive" sofas and armchairs. Forward is a formal dining room and a 14-person cinema room. A custom Steinway piano is included in her inventory. A substantial glass and stainless steel elevator connects guest quarters with the bridge deck.

10. Resilience (65.5m ISA, €65,000,000)

The 65.5-metre ISA motor yacht Resilience  joined the market in September 2024 with Edmiston.

Delivered by the Italian yard in 2021 she was designed throughout by Italian studio Enrico Gobbi / Team For Design. Naval architecture for the steel and aluminium vessel is by ISA and Palumbo.

Her full-beam master cabin benefits from two fold-down balconies and the VIP cabin on the upper deck has a private terrace. Two doubles and two twin cabins are positioned on the lower deck. There is a dedicated owner's office on the upper deck, also with a terrace, that could be converted to a cabin.

Sliding glass doors allow for enclosing exterior deck spaces on the aft deck as well as the sun deck which boasts a fire pit and barbecue area. A self-playing, translucent Edelweiss grand piano sits in the corner of the upper deck lounge.

Highlights of Resilience include a counter-current six-metre-long swimming pool, recessed into the main deck aft, a 12-person Jacuzzi up top and an "enormous" three-sided opening beach club, gym and spa area. She also sports an outdoor cinema plus an observation deck.
