The Swan 80 sailing yacht Chessie, listed for sale by Nautor’s Swan Brokerage, has been sold in an in-house deal.

This 25.08 metre sailing superyacht is the last Swan 80 built to date and was launched in 2013. Since delivery, Chessie has sailed the east coast of the US.

Built for performance sailing, Chessie has only raced a few times but has notched up a win in her class and first home in the 2014 Fort Lauderdale to Palm Beach race. A number of features make her appealing to a keen racer, such as her carbon hull, carbon deck, high modulus carbon spars and high tech standard rigging.

Chessie boasts some modifications that set her apart from her sisterships, such as her modified keel that allows her to sail shallower waters or use a deeper, performance-orientated keel if her owner wants to race.

Her deck plan has also been customised to keep Chessie as light as possible. Touches like the light coloured deck caulking that stops her deck from getting too hot in the sun and additional hand holds for added security make her a comfortable yacht to sail.

She accommodates six guests in three cabins, consisting of one master and two double suites. Chessie’s interior is styled to create a light and welcoming atmosphere that’s also practical, with cream and brown furnishings used throughout the yacht.

Lying in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Chessie was asking $3,750,000.
