The 25.5-metre Royal Huisman sloop Metolius, listed for sale with Simon Turner of Berthon International, has had a significant price drop and is now priced to sell and "ready to continue her remarkable voyaging legacy".
Designed by world-renowned Germán Frers, with interior by Pieter Beeldsnijder and built of aluminium in the Netherlands in 1992 by Royal Huisman, the pedigree sloop has circumnavigated the globe and is a modern classic, her lines appreciated by yachtsmen worldwide.
Metolius sailed over 90,000 nautical miles under her first ownership, at an average speed of 9 knots, with family on board. Her present owners have carried out upgrades over the past five years including an engine overhaul, standing rigging replacement, mast servicing and repainting, hull repainting and antifouling as well as sanding and treatment of her teak decks.
Her layout is functional and seamanlike, including three cabins for owner and guests and an airy saloon with open-plan galley. Finish is varnished teak, exuding a timeless warmth. Crew enjoy separate quarters forward and even have a workshop.
The yacht for sale benefits from a 200hp Mercedes MTU diesel – but is best enjoyed under sail.
Lying in Venice, Italy, Metolius is asking €650,000.
