The 41 metre Rodriquez motor yacht Ocean Sapphire, listed for sale by Bernard Gallay Yacht Brokerage, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Jonny Dodge of My Ocean,
Built in aluminium by Italian yard Rodriquez Yachts to a design by Foster & Partners as one of a trio of identical yachts designed for charter, Ocean Sapphire was delivered in 2010. RINA classed and MCA compliant, the yacht features a striking contemporary exterior while interiors have a strong emphasis on space and light.
Up to 12 guests can be accommodated on board in five suites, including an airy, full-beam master suite complete with two private fold-down sea terraces. Further accommodation is provided in two double VIP cabins and two twin cabins, each with a Pullman berth.
Throughout the yacht's interior, the architects maximised the amount of natural light by incorporating extensive floor-to-ceiling windows and walls of light-coloured hardwoods with high-gloss finishes. The Italian manufacturer Cassina supplied all the ultra-modern furnishings and fittings while the galley equipment is by Schiffini.
One of the most distinctive aspects of her design is the dramatic grey superstructure that arches from the bow all the way aft. The extra space this creates on a 41 metre boat is impressive with 231 square metres being devoted to outside decks and a further 260 square metres available for guest and crew leisure areas and accommodation.
A panoramic saloon on the upper deck offers wide, unobstructed views and natural materials such as solid teak and coconut husk fibre flooring delineate the boundaries between the lush interior and the minimalist outer deck areas.
Fitted with twin Caterpillar C32 engines, she has a cruising speed of 14 knots and a range of 2,400 nautical miles at 12 knots.
Ocean Sapphire was asking €6,500,000.
