Bjorn Vang-Mathisen at Ocean Independence tells me he's listed for sale the venerable 26.85 metre motor yacht Conquest of 1966.
Built by Spain's Luzuriaga yard in steel as a full displacement yacht to a design by D.J. Richardson, she was launched in 1966 as a true gentleman's yacht. She was completely rebuilt between 2008 and 2009 with a calm, classic interior by Luc Deflorenne and accommodates up to nine guests in four staterooms. These consist of a master suite, two doubles and a twin with a Pullman berth, and all staterooms have en suite bathroom facilities.
An expansive main deck saloon has ample comfortable seating, a bar and an entertainment system. A huge aft deck and massive flybridge offer endless opportunities for al fresco entertaining and, now MCA compliant, she celebrated her first season as a charter yacht in 2013. Conquest of 1966 now combines the tranquil spirit of a classic yacht with state-of-the-art technology.
Twin Cummins 450hp engines give her a cruising range of 1,000 nautical miles and Conquest of 1966 is asking €2,750,000.
