43m NQEA explorer yacht Flying Manta sold

25 April 2025 • Written by Dea Jusufi and Holly Margerrison

The 42.6-metre NQEA explorer yacht Flying Manta has been sold with Peter Redford and Eugenio Cannarsa at Fraser representing the seller and Boomer Jousma and Vittoria Santarone of IYG introducing the buyer. This follows a further €2,600,000 price drop to its asking price in January 2025.

Flying Manta was first delivered in 2004 as Ophelia and was entirely rebuilt under new ownership between 2015 and 2017. Major work included a six-metre extension, the addition of a Lloyd's certified helideck with refuelling capabilities, a new swim platform and an interior overhaul. The broker noted that Flying Manta has only ever been used as a private yacht and has been left "in pristine condition" following an eight-month refit at Pendennis last year.

Accommodation is for 12 guests and includes an owner’s stateroom and office that occupies 50 square metres on the main deck. A stairway leads to the VIP stateroom on the lower deck with a double berth that can be converted into a twin, and a second stairway leads to a further two double cabins and two convertible cabins.

Naval architecture and exterior design on the all-aluminium 354GT build is by Glanvilles, with interior design by Ivo Enrico Poluzzi in collaboration with Analu.

The main saloon features a central lounge space with a circular dining table forward to port. Key highlights include a cockpit that can be fully enclosed with air-conditioning, acting as a winter garden, and oyster and lobster tanks next to a barbecue grill where the catch of the day is prepared and served fresh.

Power comes from a pair of MTU 12V4000 M90 diesel engines delivering a top speed of 24 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots. Two gyro Seakeeper stabilisers and fin stabilisers keep her steady at anchor and underway.
