The 49.8-metre Heesen motor yacht Ela has joined the market with Robert Shepherd of Edmiston, plus Thom Conboy and Chris Collins of Ocean Independence.
Built of aluminium in the Netherlands by Heesen and delivered in 2021, as a Nova Plus model, her Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) – "arguably the most efficient hull in her class" – was designed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects.
Exterior design is by Omega Architects, who gave her a plumb bow, while the airy interior is from the studio of Cristiano Gatto Design Team. The yacht features an exceptional amount of structural glass, making for a bright interior with excellent views out. The mirrored window mullions seem almost invisible.
Ela can accommodate up to 14 guests in six spacious cabins, comprising a main deck full-beam owner’s suite, a full-beam VIP, two doubles, and two twins that each have an additional Pullman berth.
Her interior features stained Canaletto and American walnut veneers on both bulkheads and soles. Interesting details such as lighting in the saloon's coffee table and dining table, embedded with onyx that can change colour, are found throughout the interior.
On deck, Ela's guests can enjoy watching a movie forward at the bow – the tender bay converting to an outdoor cinema – alfresco dining aft on the bridge deck or a refreshing plunge into the Jacuzzi on the sundeck, where there is a full-service bar. The beach platform boasts a large-stepped ladder system that can be lowered for easy access from the sea or raised to form a diving board.
Twin MTU diesels power the 499GT, ABS-classed yacht for sale at up to 19.5 knots with a cruising range of 3,750 nautical miles at 12 knots. Draft is low at 2.1 metres allowing access to anchorages and cruising grounds that other 50-metres cannot reach.
Ela is lying in Genoa, Italy, with an asking price of €39,000,000.
