The fifth hull in the wallywhy200 series of 27-metre high-volume superyachts has been sold by Christie Yachts.
Three models have hit the water since hull number one, named Sam, made its world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2021, while a further two are currently in build with delivery in 2023.
The wallywhy200 was the first in the shipyard's wallywhy series which now includes the smaller wallywhy150 and wallywhy100 models.
A carbon-fibre spiral staircase enclosed by glass sits at the centre of the layout and connects the main saloon with the flybridge and a glass-wrapped skylounge. The saloon is full beam and devoid of bulkheads for a single continuous space that includes a show kitchen and living area. “It’s a real crossover,” said designer and founder of Wally, Luca Bassani. “It’s more than just a semi-displacement yacht, it’s a semi-explorer and a semi-fly. And its living spaces are like a semi loft.”
While cabins can be configured according to the wishes of each owner, the first hull placed the master suite at the bow, with the wheelhouse on the flybridge, and three more cabins on the lower deck sleeping eight in total. Other options can sleep up to 12 guests in five cabins.
Other highlights include distinctive curves of teak along the transom that conceal two tender garages.
The wallywhy200 runs on four Volvo Penta D13-IPS1350 engines and is the most powerful package in the IPS range specifically designed for semi-displacement yachts. The engines can deliver up to 1,000 horsepower each delivering a top speed of 23 knots.
Will Christie, CEO of Christie Yachts said: "The wallywhy200 is one of the most innovative designs that the yacht market has seen over the last decade. The sense of space, volume and natural light for a yacht of this length is truly remarkable. This sale marks the third Wally motor yacht sold by our team over the years. We certainly hope to add more to the list in the future.”
The asking price of the wallywhy200 has not been disclosed.
