The 40.23 metre modern-classic schooner Naema has been listed for sale with Hank Halsted and Sean McCarter of Northrop & Johnson.
Naema was built in The Netherlands by Graafship in 2006 to the same design as the famous 1930s classic schooner by Alfred Milne Panda. She joins the market in "near-perfect" condition following an extensive refit at Hodgdon Yachts in 2014/2015 that saw all electrical and mechanical systems upgraded.
Naema is a powerful gaff-rigged topsail schooner with a comprehensive sail wardrobe including a 219-square-metre main sail. Her two masts are made from wood with booms and gaffs courtesy of Spruce Spars. Despite her classic styling, she is fitted with Harken electric winches.
Naema's interior is classic with bright varnished anigre cabin soles and varnished, raised panel mahogany. Her full-beam main saloon and dining area provide a comfortable, elegant space for guests to gather and socialize. The saloon is decorated with leaded glass cabinets outboard, fore and aft, enhancing the magnificent traditional ambience.
Naema sleeps up to eight guests in three staterooms, each showcasing the same traditional styling as the rest of her interior. Her cabin configuration is made up of a master stateroom with a king-size berth, a cabin with double and Pullman berths and a cabin with a wide single and double lower berth plus a Pullman. The captain's cabin is aft with the remaining three crew cabins forward.
Naema's exterior offers a broad expanse of teak decking on her side and mid-deck areas with convenient stowage for her tenders. The elevated helm ensures clear visibility forward, while the guest cockpit features a large drop leaf varnished teak dining table surrounded by cushioned seating, ideal for al fresco meals.
Her deck saloon adjoins the cockpit and offers full protection from the elements while still feeling part of the action. There is comfortable seating on the raised L-shaped settees to port and starboard, with the navigation station forward to port and an office desk forward to starboard.
