70m Icon yacht conversion Project Master newly listed for sale

24 January 2025 • Written by Emily Dawkins

The 69.5-metre motor yacht Project Master, currently under construction at Icon Yachts, has been listed for sale with Dennis Frederiksen and Stuart Larsen of Fraser

Scheduled for delivery in 2028, the 69.5-metre conversion project was originally built by Kleven as an offshore rescue and support ship named Ocean Ness, with Dutch shipyard Icon Yachts now in the process of converting her into one of "the world's most capable explorer yachts". Espen Øino is responsible for her exterior design, with British studio Winch Design revealed as the interior designer for the project at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show.

Project Master was first announced at the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show, before the (previously red-hulled) vessel arrived at Icon Yachts' drydock facility in Harlingen in 2022.

Since her arrival, various parts of this yacht for sale have been demolished and her old interiors have been completely removed to accommodate a contemporary new design from Winch Design. One notable aspect of her rebuild includes the four-metre extension – bringing her total length to 69.5 metres – that retained 95 per cent of the ship's original platform and superstructure.

Her voluminous 2,800GT interior layout will accommodate 12 guests across six cabins comprising one 140-square-metre master suite, two VIP and three twin guest suites. Meanwhile, the large main saloon is located on the upper deck – fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows and open-plan with separate dining and lounge areas.

Thanks to her previous support-ship-nature, Project Master features a commercially certified helideck for a 4.3 tonne helicopter. She will also house two 11.5-metre tenders on board.

Powered by a hybrid diesel-electric system, Project Master has a range of 6,700 nautical miles at 10 knots and a top speed of 14 knots. She also complies with recent IMO Tier III regulations for NOX emissions reduction and has a Polar Code C certification for exploration to remote icy Arctic locations.

The in build Project Master is asking €99,500,000.
