At last month’s Monaco Yacht Show, BOAT International and Feadship welcomed entrants of the Young Designer of the Year Award to the Feadship VIP Lounge for a morning of networking with the award's judges and Feadship designers.
As the official sponsor of the award, the Dutch shipyard is dedicated to helping the next generation of talent to kickstart their careers. The event provided the young designers with the opportunity to discuss the 2025 award task, in which entrants are invited to imagine themselves as recent graduates working at Feadship designing a yacht for an existing Feadship owner who wants to cruise beyond the Mediterranean.
Celebrating the original yacht concepts of students from around the globe, the Young Designer of the Year is announced at the Design and Innovation Awards during the Superyacht Design Festival in February 2025 where the winner receives critical acclaim in front of an international audience of superyacht owners, designers and industry leaders.
Roger Lean-Vercoe, chairman of the Young Designer judging panel and Farouk Nefzi, chief marketing officer of Feadship, said a few words of inspiration to the young designers, wishing them good luck for this year's award.
