The classic 36.6-metre Feadship motor yacht Avante V has been sold, with Michael Rafferty of IYC representing the seller and Iain Lawrie from Merle Wood & Associates introducing the buyer.
Delivered in 1974, Avante V was constructed in steel and aluminium by Dutch yard Feadship to a custom design by H. W. De Voogt. A proud member of the Feadship Heritage fleet, she stands out for her classic canoe stern that was "purpose-built as an ocean-going yacht," according to her broker. The motor yacht was most recently refitted in 2023 and has received "meticulous care over the years".
Accommodation on board is for 10 guests in five cabins, comprising two master suites (one on the main deck), two doubles and one twin, all with entertainment centres and en suites. The main deck master includes a walk-in wardrobe, desk and a separate single cabin with en suite – perfect for families, a nanny or nurse – while the lower deck master is full-beam with "generous proportions". There is further accommodation for a crew of six.
Avante V is noted by her broker to be "full of character", something showcased throughout her interiors, which are adorned in rich woods and dark marbles offset with light-coloured soft furnishings.
The main saloon is decorated in oak wood, stained to a rich walnut colour, with a particularly light, bright and airy feeling thanks to large "picture-sized" windows. Here, guests will find a comfortable lounge area with two built-in sofas, a cocktail table and a full entertainment system.
The aft deck is open but can be enclosed with teak and glass wing doors and windows. A large, built-in sofa seating ten makes this area ideal for dining al fresco in any climate.
Moving up a level, the bridge deck is home to the captain’s cabin and wheelhouse, with a Portuguese bridge forward. Outside is the spacious sundeck, perfect for sunbathing, relaxing and taking in the views, with an optional awning for shade.
The classic Feadship offers a maximum speed of 14 knots and a cruising range of 3,500 nautical miles at 10 knots.
Avante V was asking $2,400,000.
