Charter yacht of the week: One of the largest all-American built superyachts

6 March 2025 • Written by Georgia Boscawen

Every week, we select one of the finest yachts for charter. This week, BOAT steps on board Iron Blonde and take a closer look at what makes her a good choice this charter season...

Built by Trinity Yachts, 60-metre Iron Blonde is among the largest all-american superyachts available for charter. Following a 2024 refit, this luxury yacht stands in immaculate condition too, ready to whisk guests away to South-East Asia or the South Pacific this year. She is a fine choice for family charters given her volume of 916GT and state-of-the-art entertainment system, which was recently upgraded in her most recent refit. Her toy box is also brimming with fun new jet skis and all kinds of inflatables.

Delivered in 2012, Iron Blonde was designed by the yard’s in-house team and has a bright, airy interior penned by designer Patrick Knowles. While there are gleaming wood surfaces and a classic tone to the interior, Iron Blonde retains a contemporary edge with designer fabrics, pops of colour and a bold art collection. Additional features include an impressive wine collection with a bar for tasting, as well as first-class wellness facilities and a huge sundeck.

Key Features

LOA: 60.2-metres
Builder: Trinity Yachts
Year: 2012 (2024)
Guests: 12
Crew: 15
Cruising: South Pacific, South-East Asia, and the USA

The main saloon of Iron Blonde has an open plan layout using a range of exotic woods, fine marbles and onyx finishes. Her recent refit saw the introduction of a host of new textiles and the interior now features plenty of Hermes and Louis Vuitton throws and cushions to snuggle up with. A grand piano sits in the space between the saloon to port, while the main interior dining table is surrounded by nautical striped chairs set beneath a crystal chandelier. Colours are bold, too, with yellow chairs,  blue soft furnishings and rippling patterned rugs.

As guests enter the main saloon, they’ll be met with a wine collection arranged around the walls with a circular tasting table surrounded by bar chairs. Light floods the space thanks to large windows that extend down each side. For wine enthusiasts, this is one of the best tasting set ups available on a charter vessel.

Additional interior lounge space can be found in the skylounge, which has a large fish tank forward and a sit up bar with nautical-striped bar chairs. Set on parquet flooring, the space also has a large U-shaped sofa to cosy up on and an additional marble breakfast table to starboard.

Given Iron Blonde’s cruising plans this season however, it’s likely much of your time will be spent not inside but outside, on her large deck spaces strewn with sun loungers, jacuzzis and sun pads. The sun deck is separated by a fully-equipped gym and a sauna with a cold plunge shower. A spa pool surrounded by sun pads and bar can be found forward on the sun deck while the huge sun deck aft has a semi-shaded dining table and more sun loungers.

Life on board Iron Blonde

Accommodation on board is for 12 guests across seven cabins including a full beam master cabin on the upper deck with impressive 180-degree views and a private deck. The master cabin has a striking leopard print headboard and soft furnishings as well as a twin bathroom. The remaining cabins include a VIP cabin with an office and five additional cabins allowing for a flexible arrangement which would be great for families. As guests head to the lower deck, they’ll be greeted with an elegant guest foyer with green marble flooring and elegant cabinetry.

From 1 May, Iron Blonde will be available in Fiji and French Polynesia, where her ample deck space will come into its own. The sun deck is prepped for entertaining with a dining table for up to 14 and a barbecue for relaxed evenings grilling the catch of the day. For those that want to keep up with the fitness regimen, Iron Blonde is a great choice for wellness orientated charters thanks to her air conditioned gym filled with a Peloton bike, boxing gear and free weights.

Should you wish to explore Fiji a little more, Iron Blonde has six Crossover bikes and two e-bikes. Beach set ups are also very much on the itinerary with bbq’s, gazebos and chairs ready to go. Fishing is also an option, along with snorkelling, inflatables and water toys.
