Italy-based designer Studio Agon has revealed its first 70-metre motor yacht concept titled Horus. It has been playfully referred to as the design studio's "Project Zero".
With engineering courtesy of Francesco Rogantin of NAMES Studio, the exterior design is inspired by the sporty, iconic profiles of J-class sailing yachts and 1960s sports cars.
The yacht’s design reveals a penchant for privacy, able to dock bow-to directly onto the upper deck. According to the studio: "This allows the owner to experience an innovative homecoming reminiscent of their arrival at their villa in Saint Tropez or Miami."
Accommodation includes a master cabin, four VIP cabins and two guest cabins, all fitted with full-height glass windows. A louvred design runs along the entire bulwark, ensuring further privacy and manual sunlight control in each cabin while preserving uninhibited ocean views.
Located aft of the upper deck, the owner’s cabin is Horus’ showpiece. The space covers 100 square metres and features dual balconies, a private office, a large Jacuzzi and a 3.5 by ten-metre aft window for 270-degree sea views.
The interior design appears "informal", characterised by natural materials and “reminiscent of a luxurious country house," according to the studio. Feeding off this theme, the concept also features a soft colour palette alongside vaulted ceilings and resin flooring, with the latter intended to evoke the calcareous stone found in the grand farms of Puglia’s masserie in Italy.
The main saloon features an original colonnade inspired by a Mexican Hacienda, with the columns minimising the frame of the sliding glass windows to provide unobstructed views on three sides of the saloon. A second saloon on the upper deck overlooks the long foredeck and features a parlour on the bow side, situated beneath a skylight for ample natural light. Moving aft, there is another lounge area with recessed sofas and an ultra-large TV screen.
An unexpected convivial area is the bridge deck, which has been designed as a wide, multifunctional open-air area with a see-through glass walkway and circular couch with a fire pit. Other notable leisure points are the dedicated gym and wellness areas on the lower deck, as well as the tender garage, capable of housing two eight-metre tenders, jet skis and various water toys.
Powered by a hybrid propulsion system, Horus is envisioned with a top speed of 17 knots and a range upwards of 5,000 nautical miles when pared back to 12 knots.
