Italian shipyard Tankoa has signed a contract for a 52 metre custom yacht project designed in collaboration with Vitruvius Yachts.
The custom project has been commissioned by a Canadian owner with exterior design and naval architecture led by Philippe Briand and an interior courtesy of Ancona-based studio FM Architettura. Built entirely from aluminium at the Tankoa shipyard in Genoa, the project aims to be "extremely efficient" and will be powered by hybrid technology developed in partnership with Siemens.
The 52 metre design will sit under the 500GT threshold, and while interior details are yet to be confirmed, the shipyard said that the yacht would be "finely decorated down to the smallest detail".
The owner was introduced by Albert McIlroy from Optimusnavis who will follow the build as the owner's representative. Delivery is due in spring 2025.
Speaking on the sale, Claudio Corvino, sales manager at Tankoa, said: "The project was developed over a year and, once Tankoa was chosen as the shipyard, it was a pleasure to collaborate with the owners to define the last details of what will surely be a remarkable, pleasant and successful collaboration."
The new construction joins the 58 metre T580, the first 45 metre T450 and the fourth 50 metre S501, all of which are in-build at the Tankoa shipyard.
