Ferretti Group brand Pershing has announced the launch of its second GTX116 model, which was lowered into the water in Fano this past week. She is the sistership of Caffeine, which was spotted in Monaco during the Grand Prix.
The 35.2-metre GTX flagship brought together the creative efforts of Ferretti Group's Strategic Product Committee led by Piero Ferrari, the design firm headed by Fulvio De Simoni and the Group's Engineering Department for a seamless blend of signature Pershing performance with the functionality of a Sports Utility Yacht.
Intended for the US market, the GTX116 features a slender profile designed to evoke comparisons to the luxury automotive segment, with generous glazed surfaces allowing ample natural light into the yacht's interior.
A spacious lounge on the main deck forms the primary gathering space, where guests are invited to relax among an array of warmly coloured furnishings that pair with the taupe oak parquet flooring by Listone Giordano.
In a departure from the previous hull, the second GTX116 features four – as opposed to five – guest cabins, all of which can be found on the lower deck, including the master suite.
Towards the aft, a 39-square-metre beach club is protected by a hydraulic taffrail that opens up to extend the interior space onto the swim platform, leading directly to the water's edge.
Additional al fresco areas can be found on the yacht's 40-square-metre sundeck, accessible through two outdoor stairways found on either side of the vessel, as well as forward on the main deck, where an optional six-person Jacuzzi has been installed.
Whereas the standard package includes triple MAN V12 1,800hp engines, this model pairs a triple water jet propulsion system with three upgraded MAN V12 2,000hp engines for a top speed of 35.5 knots and a cruising speed of 29.5 knots.
According to BOATPro, the success of the GTX116 series has led to a speculative third hull with delivery scheduled in early 2024. Meanwhile, the first hull in the series will make its official yacht show debut at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show in Port Hercule, along with a stellar lineup of new launches from Ferretti Group's portfolio of brands.
