Dutch yard Feadship has revealed a new 109 metre superyacht concept named Project FG.
Designed for a client who has a combined personality of Forrest Gump and Freddie Mercury, Project Freddie Gump is a “megayacht design with superstar appeal,” according to the yard.
The concept was penned with the Feadship design team from Studio de Voogt during the yard’s brokers course last year.
“Project FG was born as a technically feasible design that allows for wild partying at night and peaceful relaxation during daytime,” the yard added.
Key features include a vast outdoor beach club large enough to accommodate parties of 200-300 people. Elsewhere, the yacht features a panoramic piano lounge and pop-up table tennis table with a transparent wind breaker at the bow.
A mysterious nightclub is hidden inside the heart of the yacht for exclusive private gatherings. Accommodation on board is for a total of 22 guests while the exterior will feature an “orange tinge”.
Speaking about the concept, designer Jan Schaffers explained that Project FG “needed to be quite regal and majestic” and includes “a bunch of features which speak to both the personalities”.
Regarding the hidden nightclub, he added: “The guests have to find it – there are no directions about how to get there and the idea is that it is somewhere behind the engine – there’s a hidden door and you come into the club in the belly of the boat.”
Feadship sales director Marsha van Buitenen added that the fictional client had “on the one hand a party attitude but was also down to earth as well.
“On the down to earth side, it was Forrest Gump, on the more wild side, it was Freddie Mercury and with that, Freddie Gump was born.”
