Italian yard Otam Yachts has unveiled two new versions of its 27-metre Otam 90 GTS model: the Hard-Top and the T-Top. This announcement follows the delivery of the first unit, Sexy Me, in July 2024.
Both new models retain the same profile as Sexy Me and were designed in collaboration with Giuseppe Bagnardi of BG Design Firm, alongside Umberto Tagliavini and Aldo Scorzoni of Marine Design & Services, who were responsible for the water lines.
According to Matteo Belardinelli, sales and communication manager at the shipyard, the Hard-Top version is tailored for family use, featuring a closed lounge and the eponymous hardtop. Meanwhile, the T-Top model is intended as an open chase boat that offers a high degree of customisation.
The T-Top version is designed for both long journeys and day trips, with a design that appeals to "an owner who loves the feel of an open boat". The model's exterior features dark hull tones and an expansive, open deck. The structure flows seamlessly into the windshield, forming a single piece that fully encloses the wheelhouse.
Weight distribution has been carefully considered for the model, including the installation of oversized, structural glass panels. Renderings show various lounging areas, including a swim platform at the stern and a large sunpad at the bow, ideal for taking in panoramic views.
The Hard-Top version, by contrast, includes a fully enclosed lounge with a large sliding roof, offering the experience of a semi-open yacht while providing protection from wind, sun, spray and noise. The exterior profile features a lighter grey finish and a spacious enclosed main deck, accessed through an automatic sliding and rotating door that can almost completely disappear to open the cockpit fully.
The model includes a formal indoor dining area and a hidden living space. The shipyard notes that the standout feature is her ability to transform into an open yacht by simultaneously opening the sliding roof, the wheelhouse’s side doors and the cockpit’s large door.
Other notable features of the series include rotating gangways for side mooring, 50-centimetre side walkways leading to the bow lounge and a 4.35-metre tender stored in the garage. All models in the series offer layouts with two, three, or four VIP cabins, alongside a separate galley and crew quarters.
The shipyard currently has its eventh Otam 80HT under construction. The 25.9-metre unit has been billed the "most extreme and advanced" version yet, commissioned by an owner-driver and promising a top speed of 48 knots.
